Give Kids with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) a chance to Smile!

What is CRPS?

CRPS stands for Complex Regional Pain Syndrome. Also known as RSD, RND, and AMPS - CRPS is a chronic neuroinflammatory disease, characterized by intense pain that continues after any possible physical cause has ended. Founder, Patrick Boland, describes it as feeling as though you have been wrapped in barbed wire, doused in gasoline, set on fire, and then electrocuted at irregular intervals. The pain of CRPS is the highest-ranked chronic condition on the McGill pain scale, it is ranked above giving birth unprepared or having a finger amputated without anesthesia.  CRPS is known as "the suicide disease" as this is the leading cause of death in those diagnosed with the condition. While some young people have better outcomes and go into spontaneous remissions of some duration, there are no universally effective treatments and there is no cure. Who and Where are our Ferocious Fighters?

CRPS impacts people around the world.

Our young people come from all walks of life around the world. We know from those grey areas on the map that there are many more out there who still may not know that they are not alone and we need your help to reach them and help them get connected.

What is Ferocious Fighters?

CRPS entered Patrick's life when he was 8 years old and he was diagnosed just after his 9th birthday in 2012. By the age of 10, he had become determined to create a non-profit to send care packages to kids with CRPS so they would know that they were not alone. Ferocious Fighters became an official non-profit (501c3) on November 4, 2014, just days after Patrick's 11th birthday.

In the beginning, Ferocious Fighters sent care packages to CRPS kids and while these care packages remain one of the major programs supported by Ferocious Fighters, our mission and programs have expanded over the last 8 years. These days, OUR MISSION is to create community and support for families of young people with CRPS all around the world.

Families of children with CRPS can find much more than just a free care package when they join Ferocious Fighters. Our current programs include:
